Summary
The ZTR2760BS is an industrial sized beast made by one of the biggest manufacturers of zero turn mowers - Swisher. Their name comes with a strong reputation for quality, and this model follows its predecessors with superior mowing abilities and it upholds the high-performance associated with the Swisher name. It is an absolutely massive mower meant for the biggest of properties, and it’s made primarily for commercial use. This is great for landscaping companies and private contractors, but it may not be the best choice for a single individual with limited storage space. Seriously consider if you can sacrifice the space necessary to store this beast for the many many years it is built to last. Other than its ginormous size, it is a fantastic mowing machine and well optimized for quick, efficient cutting.
Pros:
- 60” cutting deck will pave super-wide paths for quick mowing times
- The 27 Horsepower Briggs and Stratton V-twin Engine is a powerhouse
- Maneuvers smoother than most other models this size
- Extremely spacious seating which is comfortable for all body types
- Heavy-duty frame made of high grade welded steel
- Continuously variable speeds thanks to the Hydro drive system
Cons:
- The large deck and engine requires the mower to be massive and it will take lots of space to store properly
- Expensive
- Requires consistent maintenance for a long lifetime
- Weighs a lot which makes it difficult to transport
Performance:
Weighing in at a whopping 790 pounds, the ZTR2760BS is one of the largest mowers manufactured by Swisher. Its enormous weight can be attributed to the large, heavy duty steel frame which houses the 27 HP engine and the 60” wide mowing deck. These features combined with swift turning capabilities allow the mower to cover large expanses of grass much quicker than other mowers. In fact, even with everything weighing it down, the machine can move as fast as 8 MPH. We found that even at this weight, the mower handles incredibly well with smooth responsive turns and quick rotations. The wheel speed and rotation is controlled entirely by two levers and these controls were easy to learn. The blades cut grass evenly and we noticed very little rough patches in the cutting path. At the end of the test, the lawn looked well manicured and professionally cut. With the industrial grade steel frame, this mower is also capable of pulling moderately heavy objects with a tow hook, but we do not recommend heavy duty tasks as the metal will most likely warp under the immense stress.
Final Thoughts:
The ZTR2760BS is perfect for business owners and contractors with large properties that are at least 3 acres or more. We do not recommend individuals to buy this mower if their space is limited as it is extremely large. The huge deck, fast speeds, and quick maneuverability allow this mower to cut grass both quickly and evenly. We recommend all individuals looking for these types of qualities to check it out.
